The city plans to build a nearly $2-million ice skating trail in Colonel Samuel Smith Park.
People are against the plan calling it intrusion on the lakefront retreat. This argument was first raised in 2006 in a plan to build a skateboard park on the same site.
The revised plans are for the construction of 260-metre linear trail, 4.6 metres wide in a figure eight. People are against this build because of a woodlot located in that area.
